A desk pet that types.

Codogotchi is a pixel creature that lives on your desk and grows the more you code. It is also a real mechanical macropad, so it earns its place with ten programmable keys and a rotary encoder while your pet blinks away.

Raise it

Codogotchi tracks your session time. The hours you put in are the hours your pet grows on. Code through the afternoon and it thrives. Disappear for a fortnight and it will still be there when you get back, a little bored with you.

Start with a robot, a fox, a bird, or a cat. Then make your own. Draw new creatures, write your own idle animations, and share them with everyone else running one.

Bring your friends

Leaderboards put your pet next to your friends' and the rest of the Codogotchi community. All those hours you already spend coding finally show up somewhere.

Also a proper macropad

  • Ten programmable keys. Map them to whatever you run constantly. Approve, reject, interrupt, cycle permission modes, or any keystroke or chord you like. It registers as an ordinary USB keyboard, so it works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, your terminal, your editor, anything that takes input.
  • A rotary encoder. Scroll through output and history without reaching for the mouse. Push to select.
  • Thirteen RGB LEDs. Underglow around the whole base, with configurable colours and effects.

Make it yours

The keybindings live in a config file, not a compile step. Edit it, save it, and the device restarts in about two seconds.

Remap every key, change the underglow, swap your creature, or write something new. The firmware, the configurator, and the hardware files are all open.

In the box

  • Codogotchi, assembled and flashed
  • Keycaps installed
  • USB-C cable

Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and anything else that takes keyboard input. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic or OpenAI.
